The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) announced the details of three sessions being presented as part of the educational program at PROCESS EXPO 2015 by experts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln... These sessions include “Extrusion Processing” which will be presented by Professor Steve Weier M.S. on Wednesday, September 16th and “Food Safety Considerations for Cereal Based Products” and “Food Allergen Control Strategies” presented by Dr. Andreia Bianchini and Dr. Joseph Baumert respectively on Thursday, September 17th.

“This is our second time working with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and we are very excited by the topics which they will be addressing because of their relevancy for food processors,” said Gil Williams, Chairman of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) and President of Poly-clip System USA and Canada. “According to the CDC, food allergy cases among children have risen by approximately 50% over the past 15 years. Unfortunately, these cases continue to grow, putting the pressure on processors to control challenging situations.”

“The work of UNL’s Department of Food Science in these important areas has yielded impressive results which the speakers will share with our attendees,” said FPSA President and CEO David Seckman. “Be it in prepared foods, baked goods or even pet foods, these sessions address some of the most critical topics in our industry today and will be an important complement to the PROCESS EXPO experience.”

Attendance to these sessions is free of charge for all registered attendees. Advance registration for PROCESS EXPO is $25 and $50 on-site.  Given the high demand for these educational sessions, registrants are asked to sign up in advance to ensure their seat.
