Thomas & Betts (T&B) has upgraded its line of T&B Liquidtight Systems stainless steel liquidtight fittings for stainless steel flexible conduit with SAE type 316 stainless steel, a marine-grade stainless steel with superior corrosion resistance.

The design of T&B Liquidtight Systems stainless steel liquidtight fittings also has been updated for improved liquid ingress protection and superior retention of liquidtight flexible metal conduit. New features include the dome-shaped gland nut that is unique to T&B metallic liquidtight fittings, which prevents liquids from pooling at the electric box. Additionally, the SafeEdge ground cone securely attaches to the conduit for improved pullout performance that far exceeds UL requirements.

“Flexible conduit is used in a wide variety of challenging environments,” Ralph Donati, product marketing director at T&B, said. “T&B offers metallic liquidtight fittings in various materials, because the fittings must match the material the conduit is made from to prevent galvanic corrosion. The material upgrade to 316 stainless steel provides superior corrosion resistance for food and beverage processing applications, or any highly corrosive environment.”

T&B Liquidtight Systems stainless steel liquidtight fittings are available with an optional 316 stainless steel ground core for additional corrosion resistance. Sizes range from 3/8 inch to 2 inches. They are available in 45-degree, 90-degree and straight configurations. In addition to superior corrosion resistance, they are suitable for high-temperature applications.
