The American Association of Meat Processors announced at its annual Convention in Lexington, Ky., that it has formed a partnership with Independent Processor. As part of the agreement, IP will become the official magazine of AAMP.

“This partnership is a win-win for everyone,” said Chris Luke, Sales, Market & Media Leader at BNP Media and publisher of Independent Processor and its sister magazine, The National Provisioner. “Independent Processor will become the voice for AAMP to the entire meat and poultry industry, and we look forward to utilizing AAMP’s industry expertise in our editorial content.”

"We are excited to partner with IP, and it is a natural fit, with both of our focus on the small and medium sector of the industry,” said Chris Young, Executive Director of AAMP. “It allows AAMP to strengthen our position as the voice of independent processors everywhere.”

IP is the only trade magazine in the meat and poultry processing industry that focuses exclusively on small and medium-sized companies. It publishes six times a year and has more than 8,000 subscribers. AAMP is North America’s largest meat trade association and specializes in the needs of small meat companies.

Starting with the October issue, AAMP will contribute editorial content to each issue of IP, including but not limited to editorials, technical articles and information about the association and its many state and regional affiliates. It will also highlight the opportunities and information that is available to AAMP members. Companies that are supplier members of AAMP will have special advertising opportunities to reach IP readers.

“AAMP companies have been a big part of our editorial content since the launch of the magazine,” said Sam Gazdziak, editor-in-chief of IP. “This partnership will strengthen our editorial content and our mission. I’m looking forward to working with Chris Young and the rest of the AAMP staff to create editorial content that will be truly valuable to our readers.”
