Iowa gives business incentives to Tyson, Plumrose

The Iowa Economic Development Board has approved tax incentives or direct financial assistance to projects in eight cities, including a Tyson facility renovation and a new Plumrose manufacturing plant.

Tyson Foods has been awarded $800,000 in direct assistance to help renovate its Council Bluffs facility, reports radioiowa.com. The project is expected to create 53 new jobs.

Plumrose is receiving $520,000 in direct assistance to construct a new manufacturing facility, also in Council Bluffs. IED Board spokesman Kanan Kappelman says, if the project proceeds, it would represent a $57.8 million capital investment and create 65 new jobs supported by the state incentives.
