WASHINGTON, Ind. – Perdue Farms Inc.’s Washington, Ind. plant recently secelbrated five million consecutive production hours without an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-recordable lost-time case.

To celebrate, the 1,000 associates had tailgate parties at the hatchery on September 30, at the feed mill on October 2 and the plant on October 3. The Washington operation includes associates from the Washington plant and feed mill, Vincennes, Inc. hatchery and Thorntown, Ind. breeders.

“At Perdue, we’re committed to a people-first philosophy and the safety of every individual on our team remains our highest priority,” said Marc Maynard, director of operations for Perdue. “To sustain this level of consecutive safe working days is a remarkable accomplishment and one that could not have happened without the commitment to safety by every associate within our organization. I’m proud of our team members for setting such a high standard for operational safety excellence."

Counting toward the milestone reportedly began in April 2006.
