The city of Asheville, N.C., is a place where culinary creativity runs wild. Much of that is in the form of alcohol – there may be more craft breweries per capita in Asheville than any other city.
Most sausages are made in much the same way: grind, mix, stuff, cook. Braunschweiger, though, is a little different. A type of liver sausage, it requires different ingredients, different processes, and different cooking methods than your standard brat or hot dog.
College students can learn about their prospective careers in a couple of different ways. One is theoretical — attend your classes, pay attention to the lectures, read your materials. One is practical – get an internship or other means of hands-on work, or talk with someone who is industry to learn the realities of the profession.
