
MANUFACTURING SCHEDULER

The Manufacturing Scheduler is responsible for communicating to production supervision finished product demand through monitoring
current orders, forecasting finished goods needs and prioritizing. This position will utilize Manufacturing Resource Planning II (MRP) tools
to communicate demand to J&B buyers and warehouse for the supply of raw material, meat and non-meat ingredients. Responsibilities
include the communication to procurement and sales the status of finished goods, raw material, and forecasting to assist with decisions on
procurement, costing, and staffing.
Essential Functions:
Budgeting and Forecasting: Monitors and forecasts finished product needs through the use of the Lawson M3 tools and releases the
scheduling plan to production. Reviews sales forecasts with sales planning to maximize capacities and efficiencies of all J&B manufacturing
assets. Forecasts and monitors raw material, ingredients and packaging needs utilizing traditional MRP II principles and communicates to
buyers or vendors purchases and delivery schedules.
Cross-Functional Communication: Meets with key sales representatives to acquire forecasting information on new and existing products
and provides feedback to sales on production capacity and inventory status. Communicates with satellite facility demand planners the
transferring or sharing of production to best meet demand and capacity utilization. Proactively communicates with production, warehouse
and inventory control on raw material and finished product inventory issues.
Qualified candidates will possess:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations, Material Management or related discipline.
• 3 – 5 years of progressive experience in Material Resource Planning II (MRP), demand planning, inventory planning required
(process models, reverse BOMs, co-products, credit values).
• 3+ years of experience in budget management, forecasting methodologies, and planning.
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to understand and compute sales history, forecasting and market trends and drive MRP demand
for manufacturing.
• Strong written (documentation skills) and verbal communication skills.
• APICS Certification (CPIM) desirable. Meat experience preferred.
• Ability to create, understand and maintain formulas for multi-ingredient recipes and an understanding of yields for calculation of raw
materials for MRP (Bill of Material) BOM’s.
• Working knowledge of meat terminology with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to utilize MRP calculated data for production scheduling and to prioritize tasks to keep processes moving.
• Familiarity with MRP software concepts that leverage simple to complex BOM/Reverse BOM’s to create daily, weekly, monthly and
quarterly production schedules. Experience in “reverse” BOM’s a plus.
• Experience with alternate routings and materials to optimize current market for materials and internal capacities.
• Thorough understanding of capacity and productivity tools for production planning.
• Proficient Microsoft Excel skills. Strong knowledge of other Microsoft products to include PowerPoint, Word and Outlook with the ability
to learn new systems/software applications quickly. Lawson or other ERP experience a plus.
