Misbranding leads to recall of 90,000 pounds of beef jerky
Prime Snax Incorporated, a Salt Lake City, Utah establishment, is recalling approximately 90,000 pounds of beef jerky products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced. The products were processed with a releasing agent containing soy lecithin, a known allergen that is not declared on the label.
The products subject to recall were produced prior to Feb. 2, 2014, and were shipped to retail locations nationwide. The Beef Jerky products include:
