The Arizona Department of Agriculture wants to alert consumers Schreiner’s Sausage Company is voluntarily recalling 28 ready-to-eat meat products from wholesalers. The company will post the information in its Phoenix retail store for consumers.
The Department is conducting an investigation of the events that led to the recall specifically concerning practices to prevent the spread of Listeria. The concerns arose during a routine inspection. State-inspected official processors are required to provide proof to the Department that they are using good sanitary practices. With the current information, the Department must consider the products to be adulterated.
