Demes Gourmet Corp., a Fullerton, Calif., establishment is recalling approximately 29,052 pounds of poultry and pork products due to misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced. The chicken sausages were wrapped in hog casings that were not listed on the labels. Hog casings may elicit allergic reactions in the rare cases of individuals known to be allergic to pork proteins.
The items were produced on various dates between Sept. 17, 2014, and June 1, 2015. The following products are subject to recall: 18-lb. cases of 12-oz. tray packs of “Panama Sweet Chicken Longanisa.”
