Rancher’s Pride, a meat seller in Sioux Falls, S.D. will pay the state of Iowa $30,000 for deceptive trade practices. According to the Argus Leader, the company’s agents sell products door-to-door throughout the Midwest and were found to have violated Iowa’s Door-to-Door sales act.
According to Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller,the company’s sales team didn’t tell buyers about their right to cancel their order and engaged in what Miller’s office described as “deceptive trade practices.” The company has agreed to comply voluntarily with the Iowa act, to be up-front about costs and fees, and to respond to customer complaints within 10 days in the future.
