The Aberdeen, S.D. beef plant that formerly operated as Northern Beef Packers is set to open in early November with new ownership and a new name. R. Douglas Cooper, CEO of New Angus, says that the company is testing equipment and hiring new workers, reports the Aberdeen American News.
Cooper said that the plant is not expected to reach full capacity this year, and that the plant will begin with "just a small handful of cattle to test the systems and train."
