Two members of an overnight cleaning crew have been arrested for their part in a theft of $89,000 worth of meat from a Memphis, Tenn. processor. Ledbetter Foods reported a theft of beef, pork and chicken products to the police in June.
According to WMCA News, police obtained video surveillance of the thefts that happened between June 20 and June 23. The video showed several different people placing bags and boxes of meat by the dumpster. On different occasions, different cars would drive up to the dumpster and get the meat.Additionally, an undercover employee said they witnessed the night shift cleaning crew commit numerous thefts between June 20 and June 30.
