The Missouri Association of Meat Processors held its annual Convention on March 3-5 in Columbia, Mo. Along with the trade show, seminars and networking opportunities, MAMP’s annual cured meats competition drew a total of 256 total entries, up from 204 at last year’s event.
The Best of Show award went to Wood’s Smoked Meats, of Bowling Green, Mo., for its Peppered Sweet Venison Bologna. The Taste of Missouri Winner, which is voted on by MAMP Show attendees, went to Hermann Wurst Haus of Hermann, Mo., for the third consecutive year. This year’s winning entry was a Summer Sausage with Cheese and Jalapeños.
