Home » Low-pathogenic avian influenza found in Georgia poultry farm
A flock of chickens in a commercial poultry farm in Chattooga County has tested positive for a low-pathogenic strain of avian influenza. It is the first confirmation of bird flu in a commercial poultry flock in Georgia, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The flock was killed as a precaution, and Georgia Agriculture Secretary Gary Black stressed that the illness does not threaten the food supply.
