The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) entered into a stipulation agreement with Kinderman Livestock LLC (Kinderman) of Hillsborough, Indiana, on Jan. 23, 2023, for alleged violations of the Packers and Stockyards (P&S) Act. Under the terms of the stipulation agreement, Kinderman waived its rights to a hearing and paid a civil penalty of $5,500.
An investigation by USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) revealed that from November 2021 through December 2021, Kinderman created false and misleading records in connection with its livestock dealer activities. The grade description on 545 head of swine were changed, resulting in a monetary gain of $11,289.
