Gold Kist names William “Bill” Andersen as senior director of sales and marketing with responsibility for all aspects of Gold Kist sales, marketing and new product development. As part of the company’s formal succession plan, Andersen will become vice president of sales and marketing in April 2005 when Jerry Stewart retires with more than 41 years with the company and 23 years as vice president.

Dakota Beef adds Thomas P. Briggs, former senior vice president and chief financial officer for Horizon Organic Holding Corporation, to its Board of Directors. Briggs brings more than 30 years of business experience and 14 years experience in the food industry to his role as a director for Dakota Beef. During his four-year tenure at Horizon Organic, Briggs was instrumental in Horizon’s growth and the eventual acquisition of Horizon Organic by Dean Foods earlier this year.
Nilfish-Advance America welcomes Christopher G. Toomey to its technical department as an application engineer. Toomey will assist the sales department by designing process-integrated vacuum systems and central vacuum systems that meet customers’ application-specific needs. He will also work to expand the company’s engineering capabilities by developing new vacuums and enhancing vacuums with new features.
Stahlman Group, a multi-disciplinary engineering, architectural, and construction management firm hires Todd L.T. Hedly as manager of its Structural Department. Hedly has ten years of structural engineering and project management experience including analysis, design, field support, site surveys, and cost estimates. He is responsible for complete structural review, analysis, design, specifications, contract document preparation, and oversight of Structural Department personnel.
Daniel Saunders is a new sales representative for the mid-Atlantic region for Advanced Surfaces Corporation. As a regional sales representative, Saunders is responsible for establishing new clients, maintaining the existing customer base and recommending flooring solutions for industrial clients with a focus on food, beverage, poultry, and pork. He primarily services clients in North Carolina, South Carolina, and eastern Tennessee.
Lance Sipes joins Dapec as a sales engineer. His responsibilities include supporting the Dapec sales staff by preparing equipment layout drawings, maintaining customer data files, and ensuring that utility requirements are met. Sipes has 25 years experience in design and plant layout.
DSM Food Specialties names Dicki Lulay as vice president, savory ingredients. Lulay brings to the company a management leadership track record, with significant experience in business development, strategic planning, marketing, and R&D. Lulay graduated from Oregon State University with a major in Food Science and Technology. Lulay’s Masters Degree is in Marketing and Finance from St. Mary’s College and as a fellow of the Institute of Food Technologists served as a citizen ambassador to China.
