Enhance Your Leadership Skills

The 2006 AMI Annual Convention and Innovation Showcase is one of the most important gatherings of the meat industry’s top business leaders this year and offers an excellent venue, fantastic educational sessions and great networking opportunities in a beautiful setting.
The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood, Fla., hosts this year’s convention, which runs from Wednesday, Oct. 4 through Friday, Oct. 6.
Attendees will have the chance to participate in a unique set of programs, geared toward improving managerial and leadership skill sets for those involved. The Meat Industry Research Conference (MIRC) is the first and last step in researching and advancing the science of the meat industry. This conference sets the food-safety agenda and direction of the meat industry and is a must-attend, ticketed event taking place in two parts, on Wednesday and Thursday.
George Tenet, CIA director from 1997-2004, will help attendees get dramatic results through leadership tactics and practices that galvanize the people that work for them, inspire innovation and revitalize the organizational culture. Tenet, who helped guide the CIA through a period of multiple crises, will share his knowledge in Thursday’s General Session, Leading Change.
Two Education Workshop programs will be offered as well, with a workshop by FranklinCovey on the 4 Roles of Leadership on Thursday, and a special preview of the Meat Industry’s Executive Development Program that is slated for 2007 at Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. NP
