Cleaning crew worker injured in meat grinder accident
A worker on the cleaning crew at K&K Gourmet Meats in Leetsdale, Pa., had his foot caught in a shut-down grinder for eight hours before being freed. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the grinder had been turned off for cleaning when Nicholas Mangino, 26, slipped and got his foot wedged in the machine.
Mangino's partner was not working Monday, so he was finally discovered at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Three fire departments combined to have him freed by 7:17. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.
