Cargill's Schaefer to receive AMSA Meat Processing Award
The American Meat Science Association has announced that Dan Schaefer is the recipient of the 2011 AMSA Meat Processing Award. Schaefer will be honored at a special reception and awards presentation at the AMSA 64th Reciprocal Meat Conference on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in Manhattan, KS. The award, established in 1977, is sponsored by Smithfield Foods.
ASMA Executive Director Dr. Thomas Powell said, “Dan Schaefer will be recognized for his ongoing contributions to commercial meat science in the area of advanced lean recovery systems as well as leadership in beef food safety.”
