Russian chicken, pork production up over 20% in February
Russia’s output of poultry and its byproducts increased 25 percent to 268,000 metric tons in February compared with a year earlier, the Federal State Statistics Service said. Pork production rose 21 percent to 70,700 tons and beef output gained 5.4 percent to 12,500 tons, the service, known as Rosstat, said today in an e-mailed statement. Production of all meats and byproducts, excluding poultry, gained 13 percent to 97,900 tons, reports Bloomberg News.
Russia’s output of cattle and poultry in so-called live weight, which includes meat, bones and byproducts, increased 9.8 percent to 800,000 tons, Rosstat said.
