The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says it has lifted its suspension of the operating license for the XL Foods plant in Brooks, Alberta. The agency says the plant will be allowed to “progressively resume” slaughter and meat-processing operations, reports the Canadian Press.
The company had been readying its workers for a reopening prior to the CFIA notice. The owners of the plant told the United Food and Commercial Workers union that workers were being called back for three days of training starting next Wednesday, reports The Globe and Mail.
