Processor moving to Pennsylvania after 40 years in New Jersey
Continental Specialty Meats, located in Ridgefield, N.J., has announced plans to move into a recently purchased facility in Forks Township, Pa. The company plans to add 20,000 square feet to the facility, which would more than double the size of the building. In total, the investment in land acquisition, renovations, site improvements, new equipment and employee training amounts to more than $4 million, reports The Morning Call.
Pennsylvania has "been welcoming and helpful, which has helped to lessen the stress of building a new plant," Continental Specialty Meats President Kenneth Mayer said in a news release. "We are excited to begin operations in Pennsylvania."
