Calif. company recalls sausage on allergens

WASHINGTON – Jolly Good Meet Products of Los Angeles is recalling about 600 pounds of ready-to-eat and raw banger sausage rolls because they may contain eggs, an undeclared allergen, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said Saturday.

The FSIS said that 8.9-pound cases of ready-to-eat “Jolly Good Banger Rolls” and 24-pound cases of raw “Jolly Good Banger Rolls” are subject to the recall.

Each box bears Est. # “6216” inside the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) mark of inspection. The Banger Rolls products were produced in September and October, and were shipped to distributors in California for further distribution to retail establishments and restaurants.

The problem was discovered by a routine FSIS inspection. The agency has received no reports of illness due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an allergic reaction should contact a physician.
