The conference is organized by faculty within the Department of Animal Sciences in partnership with representatives of the Alabama beef cattle community. 
 
The main theme of this year's conference is the ‘Innovation, Efficiency and Effectiveness –  Adapting Cattle Production For Greater Success’
 
Featuring - Nationally Recognized Plenary Speakers:
  • Trent Loos, 6th generation farmer, radio, RFD-TV and
  • media personality, agricultural activist
  • Dr. Monty Kerley, Univ. of Missouri beef cattle
  • efficiency expert
  • Dr. Wade Shafer, geneticist and Exec. VP American
  • Simmental Assoc.
  • Bridget Wasser, Senior Director of the Beef
  • Innovations Group
  • Young Cattlemen Track, Pre-conference Tour Option,
  • Choice of twelve breakout/workshop sessions
  • Come Away Energized & Renewed
 
Interactive workshop sessions are planned Saturday for youth 9th grade through 12th grade who register for this event.  
 
The innovative conference is scheduled from 1-9 p.m., with dinner provided on Friday and from 8:00 am through noon on Saturday.
 
Registration in advance of July 17 is $80 but will be $160 after the date. Due to limited capacity and strong demand, early registration is strongly encouraged.
