CC Industries Inc. (CCI) announced today that it acquired Weiler and Co. Inc. located in Whitewater, Wis. Weiler, under both the “WEILER” and “BEEHIVE®” brand names is a leading provider of grinding, mixing and bone separator/meat recovery equipment to the protein segment of the global food processing industry.

The acquisition complements CCI’s existing food processing equipment platform, Formax Inc. Formax, headquartered in Mokena, Ill., is the leading designer and provider of large capacity protein forming equipment in the world. Formax and Weiler share a similar customer base and their respective equipment operates on many of the same production lines. Formax also provides the market with several lines of high speed slicing equipment.

Nick Lesar, the retiring President and CEO of Weiler, noted: “The combination of Weiler and Formax creates an international powerhouse. We at Weiler have high regard for the CCI and Formax management team. We believe that Weiler, as part of CCI and Formax, will continue its rapid growth, and that the combined business will be good for Weiler, its employees, customers, vendors and the Whitewater community. Similarly, our Beehive, Inc., operation in Sandy, Utah, should enjoy the same benefits as part of the CCI and Formax organization.”

Post transaction, a comprehensive integration plan will be undertaken. Bill Crown, President and CEO of CCI comments, “We will be fortunate to own the leading manufacturers in two significant segments of the food processing equipment industry. Both organizations have long histories of serving their customers very effectively. It is our intention to meld the best qualities of both organizations into a new combined company that exceeds the high standards historically set by each of them.”

Dave Brown, President and CEO of Formax further comments, “We at Formax know the Weiler team very well and have collaborated with them on installations for many years. We are extremely excited that CCI has made this acquisition, and we look forward to working with all of the parties to integrate these two organizations and serve our customers in a world class manner.”

“The food industry has always looked to Formax and Weiler for processing equipment they can count on,” said Bill Wight, newly named Vice President and General Manager of Weiler. “Formax and Weiler are world leaders in technology and we look forward to collectively building value for our customers,” Wight concluded.

CC Industries is a holding and management company for the Henry Crown Company’s group of operating companies. Other holdings include Great Dane Limited Partnership and Bush Hog LLC.
