Additional patent protection granted to Cozzini Inc.'s SUSPENTEC

Cozzini, Inc., Chicago, a leading global manufacturer of food processing equipment and developer of numerous meat processing technologies and processes, has been granted additional patent protection on its SUSPENTEC process.

US Patent #7,481,156 B2 was granted Jan. 27, 2009.

The SUSPENTEC technology is a process that reduces lower cost beef, pork, poultry and fish trimmings in a controlled environment and when mixed with brine creates a homogeneous suspension that is then injected into whole muscle product.

This technology has a favorable effect on texture, flavor and binding while increasing slice and weight yields.
