AdvancePierre to move production line from Orange City, Iowa, plant

AdvancePierre Foods is moving a food manufacturing line from its facility in Orange City, Iowa, to Enid, Okla., and Cincinnati, Ohio. The Iowa facility is losing 100 of its approximately 450 jobs, reports the Enid News and Eagle. The layoffs will take place at the end of July.

“This consolidation will allow the company to optimize its existing manufacturing facilities,” said Mike Zelkind, senior vice president for operations. “Regarding the additional production coming to Enid, we are currently assessing our staffing capacity at the Enid facility and will consider adjustments as needed in the future.”
Affected workers in Iowa will receive a severance package based on their tenure with the company as well as transition assistance and re-employment support services, Zelkind said. Impacted Orange City employees also will be offered positions at other AdvancePierre facilities.
