Portion Control Solutions

Fighting the battle of the bulge

So, calories do matter. This winter, the New England Journal of Medicine released a study which tracked the effectiveness of four popular diets: low fat with average protein, low fat with high protein, high fat with averageprotein and high fat with high protein. The results showed that all of the diets were successful because participants were encouraged to reduce their daily calories by 750 and exercise 90 minutes a week.
In short, dieting success is directly related to calorie intake, not fat or carb content, which bodes well for portion-control products at retail or restaurants.
