WASHINGTON – Nestlé Prepared Foods Co. of Mt. Sterling, Ky. is recalling about 199,417 pounds of frozen stuffed chicken sandwiches on concerns they may contain pieces of plastic.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said on Monday that 9-ounce boxes of "Lean Pockets Spinach Artichoke Chicken - 2 sandwiches" are subject to the recall.

Printed on the side of each box is a "Best Before" date of "Nov 2009" followed by a package code beginning "8144 544616." Also printed on the side of the package is the establishment number "P7721A."

The FSIS said that the products were produced on May 23 and distributed nationwide.

The agency reported that the problem was discovered after the company received complaints from consumers. Two injuries have been reported to the company.
