Solbar Industries Ltd., Israel, has announced the appointment of Greg Horn to direct the company's business, marketing and sales activities in North America (U.S. and Canada), beginning Aug. 1. Horn will be responsible for implementing Solbar's business marketing plan focused on specialty soy proteins including isolates, functional and textured soy concentrates and Solbar's Bontex steam-textured soy proteins.

According to Assaf Gadish, vice president of sales and supply chain at Solbar, "Greg Horn has proven through 15 years of experience in the U.S., European, and Australian food and nutritional ingredient markets that he has the experience, a wide network of industry relationships, and the drive to achieve Solbar's goals for North America."

Horn has developed strategic marketing plans for major food companies, including ConAgra Food Ingredients, Penford Food Ingredients and Aviagen; including formation of strategic alliances and acquisitions on three continents.

“I was attracted to the opportunity to join Solbar," Horn said, "because of their global soy processing capabilities, strong technology and high quality specialty products. There is a need in the North American market for a dedicated and trusted soy company. Solbar is poised to be the soy protein supplier of choice to the food and nutritional markets in the U.S. and Canada.”
