A Rockford, Ill. man faces criminal charges in connection with an incident that resulted in a co-worker’s death at a Hampshire meat plant. Kane County prosecutors have charged 27-year-old Ler Htoo with involuntary manslaughter, a Class 3 felony, in the Aug. 2, 2017, death of 22-year-old Ai Moo Say of Rockford. Both men were employed at the Malcolm Meats/Buckhead Beef plant in Hampshire, reports the Daily Herald.
The Kane County State’s Attorney alleges that on Aug. 2, 2017, Htoo, acting recklessly, threw a meat knife at Ai Moo Say, striking him and causing an entry wound near his heart, resulting in his death, states the Kane County Attorney’s Office.
