CHINO, Calif. – A former slaughterhouse worker in California on Friday plead no contest to animal cruelty charges at the Westland/Hallmark plant in Chino, Calif.
Daniel Ugarte Navarro was caught on undercover video abusing sick and injured cows at the plant. Reports said he plead no contest to the two felony abuse charges and to two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to downed animals. He faces up to a year in jail when sentenced in August.
