Tyson Foods adds new board member

A former senior executive in the renewable plastics and chemical industry has been named to the board of directors of Tyson Foods Inc., company officials announced.

Kathleen M. Bader, 60, has been selected as a new independent director on the Tyson board. She is the former president and CEO of NatureWorks LLC, which makes fibers and packaging materials from renewable resources.

Bader also spent more than 30 years with Dow Chemical, holding various management positions in the company’s global and North American operations, including global business president of a $4.2 billion plastics portfolio.

“Our nominating committee recommended Kathleen because of her extensive leadership experience, including her exposure to commodities and international business,” said Tyson Foods Chairman John Tyson. “We know she will be an excellent addition to our board.”
