Russia will reduce pork and poultry import quotas after it gains entry to the World Trade Organization, RIA Novosti said, citing Andrei Slepnyov, the country’s deputy economy minister.
According to Bloomberg News, Pork quotas will be 320,000 metric tons in 2012 and frozen chicken and turkey quotas will both be 80,000 tons, the state news agency reported today. Import quotas for beef, set at 30,000 tons, will not be changed, according to the agency. This year’s quotas were 472,100 tons for pork, 530,000 tons for cattle meat, 30,000 tons for chilled beef, and 350,000 tons for frozen poultry.
