JTM Group announces leadership changes

JTM Food Group, a national leader in creating products and menu solutions for the foodservice industry, has announced several changes to its executive leadership team. Jack Maas, a co-founder and co-owner of the company with his three brothers Tony, Joe and Jerry and currently vice president, sales, will be stepping down from his day-to-day role effective January 1, 2013. At that time, he will assume his new role as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.

During his 40-plus years at JTM, Maas has worked almost every job at the company, from meat cutter and counter clerk, to sanitation, truck driver, production, product designer, marketing and sales. He is also a board member for Research and Development Associates for Military Food and Packaging, and a member of the American Commodity Distribution Association (ACDA), National Restaurant Association (NRA) and the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS).

Brian Hofmeier, senior director, school sales, and Scott Bonta, general manager, are being promoted to vice president, education sales, and vice president, general manager and food service sales, respectively, and officers of the company.

“I am very excited about this new direction for JTM, and look forward to working closely with my brothers and the company’s outside board members to implement our strategic plan and continue our dynamic growth as a company,” said Jack Maas. “Brian and Scott have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and commitment during their tenures with JTM, and I, and the Board, have complete confidence that their increasing responsibilities are the right strategic and organizational moves for the company at this time.”

Brothers Joe (VP, operations), Jerry (VP, business development) and Tony Maas (president and CEO) will continue in their current roles with JTM.

“As Jack begins his new role as Chairman of the Board, we know that his leadership and oversight mean that JTM is even better positioned to integrate and optimize our manufacturing capabilities and sales operations,” added Tony Maas. “Jack has committed his entire career to the JTM employees and customers we serve every day, and that commitment will continue full force with this new role.”

JTM’s sales under Jack have increased dramatically in the past several years, and in 2011, JTM was named one of the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Fast 55, an award that recognizes the fastest-growing private firms in greater Cincinnati. Now, leadership of the company’s sales team falls to two experienced industry veterans with strong track records of their own.

“I am extremely pleased and fortunate to continue to lead the industry’s best K-12 School sales and support team,” added Brian Hofmeier. “I look forward to further increasing JTM’s strategic and leading position in the K-12 school marketplace, and to building on Jack’s incredible contributions to the company.”

Added Scott Bonta: “It’s been a privilege to work closely with Jack, Tony, Joe, Jerry, Brian and our excellent Food Service sales team, as well as JTM’s industry leading R&D, Culinary, Customer Service and Marketing teams, to continue to grow the business and serve our customers at the highest levels.”
