Burger King whips out Indy Double Whopper

MIAMI – Burger King Corp. announced Thursday announced an Indy-themed promotion ahead of the action movie “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”

The company said in a statement the new burger is part of a new promotion that “celebrates the entire franchise and features the special edition Indy Double Whopper sandwich, the ‘Reveal the Secret’ scratch-and-win game, the "Big Dig" online game and a series of Kids Meal toys.”

The burger features two quarter-pound patties topped with two slices of pepper jack cheese, four slices of bacon, Cajun mayo, tomatoes, lettuce, onions and mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun. It has a suggested retail price of $4.29 and is available for a limited time.

"The cross-generational appeal and cultural phenomenon of the Indiana Jones series make this one of the most coveted entertainment partnerships," said Brian Gies, vice president of marketing impact.
