Odom's launches turkey sausage patties

Odom’s Tennessee Pride announces the introduction of All Natural Fully Cooked Turkey Sausage Patties. The introduction of a turkey product into a line of all-pork products represents a milestone for this 65-year-old, family-run company based in Nashville, and the line offers a number of unique features. The patties are made with 100-percent turkey, are fully cooked and have qualified for the “All Natural” label. Tennessee Pride introduced its first All Natural fresh roll sausage in May. Both the new fresh roll sausage and the new fully cooked turkey patties meet these stringent USDA guidelines for the All Natural classification. The new All Natural Fully Cooked Turkey Sausage Patties package is green, which is differentiated from the company’s other fully cooked product packages.

Hormel brand offers Mexican meal starters

Doña Maria®, a Hormel Foods brand known for its authentic Mexican flavors and convenient products, proudly introduces Platillos: a new line of authentic Mexican meal starters, the perfect accompaniment to rice or warm tortillas. These microwavable meal starters heat in only 90 seconds, and use the same packaging technology as Hormel’s Compleats line of shelf-stable microwavable meals. Platillos are available in three varieties: Chicken with Mole, Pork with Salsa Verde, and Meatballs with Chipotle Sauce.

Just BARE Chicken hits the market

Just BARE™, a new premium brand of all-natural chicken, has been introduced to address shoppers’ top concerns about buying, handling and consuming chicken. It is all-natural chicken, with no added hormones and no antibiotics. The chickens are vegetable-fed and raised cage-free by independent, local family farmers in the upper Midwest. Items are available for both the self-service meat case and full-service meat counter. The self-service offering features three boneless and skinless chicken items and two bone-in varieties. The transparent, recyclable plastic tray and its clear film lid give consumers a nearly 360-degree view of the chicken inside, replacing the traditional foam tray and plastic overwrap. An additional innovation of the Just BARE brand is the Family Farm Code, which helps consumers learn where and how the chicken in that package was raised.

Frozen seafood entrees flood the shelves

One solution to the national economic crunch is in-home eating, and making that task easier is the new WorldCatch line of grilled seafood, product that even a self-proclaimed non-cook can prepare at home in less than 15 minutes. The line includes: Yellowfin Ahi Tuna Steaks, Salmon Burgers, Smoky Barbecue Salmon Fillets, and several other varieties of Mahi Mahi, salmon and other seafood favorites. The items are pre-seasoned and offer an economic family-meal solution, in 12- to 16-ounce packages. WorldCatch’s new grilled seafood frozen entrees will be available beginning in mid-January at select retailers.

Castle Wood Reserve introduces Angus roast beef

Castle Wood Reserve Angus Roast Beef is described as a legendary flavor, Old World-quality, sliced roast beef coated with seasoning. The premium product is fully cooked and available in a 22-ounce pack. Also available in this line is a Black Forest Ham variety, which is said to have a legendary flavor and Old World quality. The sliced ham is made with premium meats and is retailed in a 22-ounce pack.
