New Products: Hormel introduces new authentic sliced deli meats

Hormel introduces new authentic sliced deli meats

In response to consumers’ feedback, Hormel® Authentic Deli products have been converted to a 100-percent natural line of sliced deli meats.

High-pressure processing (HPP) equipment makes it possible to produce natural products without sacrificing flavor. HPP uses intense water pressure to preserve and protect food against harmful bacteria and seal in freshness and flavor without touching the product itself.

The new packaging now takes up to 40-percent less room in the case, allowing deli counters to maximize profit through better shelf management.

The Authentic Deli line comes in eight varieties: cooked ham, black forest ham, smoked honey ham, double smoked honey ham, roast beef, honey turkey breast, oven roasted turkey breast and smoked turkey breast.

The new sliced deli meats are available nationwide for an average per-unit retail price of $2.08, and will be supported by public relations and in-store marketing.

Dinty Moore debuts Big Bowls

Ready in less than two minutes, Big Bowls feature a larger 15-ounce microwaveable bowl with new varieties including: Traditional Beef Stew, Chicken and Dumplings, Scalloped Potatoes and Ham, Italian-style Stew with Meatballs and Southwest Chicken Stew.

Dinty Moore Big Bowls are now available to retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $2.49.

Marketing support for the new Big Bowl varieties will be part of a national campaign for the product line, including a consumer promotion overlay. The campaign, featuring the tagline: “You ain’t dainty. That’s why there’s Dinty,” will run through October 2008 and will include targeted consumer magazine advertising, public relations, in-store advertising and FSIs.
