DuPont Qualicon has released a new BAX® system assay for poultry rinses that detects both Campylobacter jejuni and C. coli, the strains most frequently implicated in human illness. The automated system can detect as few as 10 cells of Campylobacter in a 30-ml sample after just 24 hours enrichment. The BAX system can detect pathogens or other organisms in raw ingredients, finished products and environmental samples.

Formost Packaging Machines offers the Fuji-Formost FW-3400 Alpha VI Horizontal Servo Wrapper. Four individual servo motors drive the film feed, cantilevered cold and heated center fin sealers, and end sealer to provide a system that allows for accurate and repeatable packages, requiring minimum maintenance. Lohmann Animal Health’s Avi Pro IBD Xtreme vaccine is designed for use as a live primer prior to inactivated vaccination in pullets and as a potent tool to prevent IBD infections.  It is presented in freeze-dried form in 10 or 30 ml vials. It is recommended for application via drinking water for young chickens, and as a priming vaccine at five to eight weeks of age before inactivated vaccine is given at 10 to 18 weeks.

Realcold has developed a wide range of chilling and freezing tunnels for cartoned food products. Capacity for these highly-automated tunnels varies in size from 2,000 to more than 25,000 cartons per day. Cartons are automatically loaded and unloaded and mechanically moved through the tunnel. Size, height, width, length, and conveyor layouts are designed to fit customer specification.

Glacier Computer announces that its GX-1000 and GX-1200™ rugged computer is now capable of a direct connection to 12 VDC vehicles. The GX-1200 has a 12.1-inch color touchscreen display, is housed in a rugged enclosure and is ideal for applications such as forklifts, fixed-mount warehousing, and distribution and factory-floor settings. The GX-1000 has a 10.4-inch display and a smaller form factor for greater line-of-sight by the operator.
