Faithful+Gould
, Chicago, a cost consultant and program management firm, has recently hired Jeff Jendryk as director of business development. Jendryk joins Faithful+Gould with over 25 years of food and beverage experience in process engineering, master planning and equipment selection. Jendryk will work at the Chicago’s downtown office. Professional memberships include NAFEM, ASME, AMI and IDFA.
Johnsonville Sausage has announced the promotions of seven members to vice president: Dale Arnold, director of engineering; Tom Danneker, international business director; Kris Dirkse, chief financial officer; Steve Johnson, director of operations; Kevin Ladwig, director of science and procurement; Todd Pogorzelski, director of sales and Tom Wolff, marketing director.
Dr. Sopone Phukowluan has been appointed senior consultant for AGRI-associates Asia in Thailand. He has more than 30 years experience in management and development, independent consulting, and working for a number of major companies in Bangkok. He has also been a senior lecturer in the doctorial program at the University of Ramkhamleng. He received his PhD in management psychology at the University of Minnesota. Sopone will be consulting and sourcing key managers for AGRI-associates worldwide.
Chef Justin Young has been named the new executive chef of Kraft Food Ingredients. Young will lead the Kraft Food Ingredients’ culinary team in creating innovative culinary applications and identifying emerging food trends. Young is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, College of Culinary Arts in Charleston, S.C., were he received his classical culinary training. He trained and worked in Lyon, France for one year as an apprentice for French Master Chef Pierre Orsi. Young also spent four years as the executive chef for La Tourelle in Memphis, Tenn., and contributed to the opening of its sister restaurant, Café 1912.
Mettler-Toledo Hi-Speed has announced that Gwendolyn Irvan has joined the firm as West Coast Regional Sales Manager. At Mettler-Toledo, Irvan will concentrate on checkweigher and integrated product inspection solutions for the company’s west coast market segments. Most recently, Irvan served as key accounts manager of Leybold Vacuum. Previously, she was national accounts manager for Ivex Packaging and Cryovac Packaging. She completed her Masters Degree at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.
Thomas M. Hensley, Jr.,(pictured) executive vice president and chief financial officer of Fieldale Farms Corp., was elected secretary-treasurer of the National Chicken Council at the recent NCC board of directors meeting. Hensley replaces the late O.B. Goolsby, Jr., of Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. He has served on the NCC board since October 2001 and has worked for Fieldale Farms for 32 years.
Also at the board meeting, two new representatives were elected from Tyson Foods: Archie Schaffer, senior vice president for external relations, and Donnie Smith, group vice president for consumer products. In addition, the board named Clint Rivers, chief operating officer of Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, and Bernard Leonard, group vice president of the food service group of Tyson Foods, to fill two openings on the executive committee.
Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. has announced that its board of directors unanimously elected J. Clinton Rivers as president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. Rivers, 49, previously served as chief operating officer. A special subcommittee of the board had been conducting a search for a new president and CEO following the unexpected death of O.B. Goolsby Jr. last December. Rivers earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Walter Pelletier, treasurer of Butterball LLC has been elected vice chairman of the National Turkey Federation’s (NTF) Executive Committee. The announcement was made at the 2008 NTF annual conference, held Feb 9-12 in San Diego, CA. As vice-chairman, Pelletier will help shape NTF policy and organizational decisions and work with other committee members to make ongoing improvements in the industry. Pelletier is a graduate of North Carolina State University and has more than 25 years of experience in poultry and agriculture industries.
Stellar has hired one new director and promoted six employees.
Greg Camp has been appointed as Stellar’s new director of development, food & beverage facility services. He joined the company from Poly-clip System, where he was key accounts manager.
The promoted employees at Stellar include:
Michael Wolf, who moves from project manager to senior project manager in Stellar’s Refrigeration Services division. Wolf has been with Stellar for four years and graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He has also worked for Mollenberg–Betz.
James Piner, who is now project manager in Stellar’s Refrigeration Services division. Previously, he was an assistant project manager. He has worked for Stellar for one year and four months and is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy.
Brian Job, who becomes a pipefitter foreman. He has worked for Stellar since May of 2004 and previously was a pipefitter.
Scott Mark, who takes on the role of director of project development from senior project manager in the Food & Beverage Facility Services division. He has been with Stellar for 10 years and holds a degree from the University of North Florida.
Matt Doherty, who moves from assistant project manager to project manager in the Food & Beverage Facility Services division. Doherty has a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri–Rolla. He has been employed by Stellar for one and a half years and has also worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
John Johnson, who moves up within the Distribution Facility Services division, from senior project manager to director of project development. He has been with Stellar for five years and has a degree from the University of North Florida. He has also worked for C. Young Construction.
Westfalia Technologies Inc. has named James Miller to business development and Bill Daniel to the sales team as account executive. Both will be responsible for contacting potential clients and establishing new accounts for Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems.
Miller began his career as a mechanical engineer and has more than 30 years experience in automated storage and retrieval systems, conveyors and warehouse management systems.
Daniel served for eight years as an Automated Systems Account Executive with HK Systems Inc. of Milwaukee, and had previously been a National Account Executive for the Ford Motor Company’s Industrial Belting & Supply and Advanced Technology Services divisions.
Bry-Air Inc. has welcomed Michael Hong as the newest addition to the Bry-Air team. Hong graduated from the University of Akron with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. He joins Bry-Air from Integral Solutions Inc. where he had experience in designing and implementing automated control systems. He will be responsible for electrical design and function and will be working with Bry-Air’s team of regional sales managers, representatives, and all employees at Bry-Air’s headquarters in Sunbury, Ohio.
