Michelle Kelly has been promoted to microbiology laboratory supervisor at Cincinnati-based testing laboratory Q Laboratories Inc. Kelly has served as a microbiologist at Q Laboratories since 2004. In her new post, Kelly will be responsible for overseeing all functions of the microbiology department, including maintaining staff training, upgrading technological capabilities, optimizing the services offered by the lab and formulating and implementing future growth strategies and planning.

Mainca USA Inc. has appointed Joseph P. Gould as vice president ofoperations. Mainca USA is the U.S. agent, importer and service center for Mainca Equipamientos Carnicos of Barcelona, Spain. Gould has been with the company for more than six years as a purchasing manager. He comes to the position with 20 years of experience in meat- and food-processing equipment. Gould's responsibilities will include strategic planning of the company’s growth in North America.
