DENVER – Sandwich chain Quiznos announced Tuesday that it has elevated company president Dave Deno to CEO and announced expansion plans.

Deno becomes CEO effective Sept. 20. He succeeds Greg Brenneman, who will become chairman of Quiznos investor CCMP Capital Advisors. Reports said that Brenneman will become Quiznos' executive chairman and continue to guide the company's long-term strategy, while Deno will handle daily operations.

Quiznos also announced plans to speed up its international operations. The company signed a 10-year agreement to open 100 restaurants in India, and another 10-year pact to open 175 in Brazil. Quiznos is also in talks to enter the Singapore, Chile and Ecuador markets.

About 700 of the existing 5,000 Quiznos locations are overseas, and the company expects to open at least 500 more in the next two years, Deno said.
