CNA, the insurance company that covers Spartan Chemical Co.'s physical facility, presented Spartan with its prestigious Leadership in Safety Award. Spartan received this award based on its extremely low claim record; Spartan’s pro-active approach of consulting CNA's risk department before building plant addition and installing new tanks; and Spartan’s progressive response to CNA's risk reduction recommendations.

Spartan was nominated by its CNA Risk Control Consultant Joan Wooley. The nomination then went through a rigorous committee review board before getting final approval. CNA insures thousands of companies, and Spartan is only one of two companies in Ohio that have ever won this award. Spartan is very proud of its operations management team, manufacturing associates, and maintenance department.
