JBS SA, the parent company of JBS USA and Pilgrim’s, announced that it has acquired deli meats processor Plumrose USA for $230 million. The acquisition was made through JBS SA and Plumrose’s former parent company, Danish Crown A/S/, Reuters reports.

Plumrose, which produces ham, ribs and deli meats among other items, has five prepared foods plants in Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi and Vermont and two distribution centers in Indiana and Mississippi. JBS SA said that the acquisition will "expand its portfolio of high value added prepared foods and strengthen its customer base and geographical distribution in the United States."

Earlier this year, JBS SA unit Pilgrim’s announced it had closed on the acquisition of chicken processor GNP Co.
