Worker killed in Pilgrim’s Pride Georgia plant accident

A man was killed Tuesday afternoon in an industrial accident at the Pilgrim’s Pride chicken plant in Canton, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said. The incident happened around 2 p.m. at the plant in the 600 block of Univeter Road, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Detectives are investigating, but believe the man’s death was an accident. No other information was immediately available. The man’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
