Worker killed in industrial accident at Pilgrim’s Pride Texas plant
Police are investigating the death of an employee in Pilgrim’s Pride’s Mt. Pleasant, Texas plant. Pablo Lopez Romero, 55, was found inside one of the “ice rooms” in the plant last Friday, reports The Daily Tribune.
The first impression was that the victim had succumbed to a heart attack, said Justice of the Peace Kay McNutt, but upon closer examination it appeared he had been struck by something. Preliminary reports indicated that Romero died of “blunt force trauma to the neck and chest.”
“There seemed to be some trauma to the victim. It was apparently an accident,” she said.
