U.K.-based Spectral Fusion Technologies Ltd., a Meyn strategic partner for several years, has agreed to extend the cooperation between the two companies. A key element within this cooperation will be the sales, distribution and after-sales support of Spectral’s BoneScan range of x-ray inspection systems within the United States. Meyn already has incorporated the BoneScan technology as part of its SMART solution for deboning in a number of poultry facilities worldwide.
Wire Belt Company of America was honored at the Greater Manchester Red Cross Red and White Ball on March 25 for its support of the American Red Cross relief fund. The company donated more than $56,000 to the Red Cross in 2005. After the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, David Greer, Wire Belt president and CEO, announced the company would donate $2 for every dollar raised by employees. The company ultimately up raising more than $26,000 for the Hurricane Katrina victims.

Gleeson Contractors was given Hormel Foods’ Spirit of Excellence award for 2005. The supplier award is presented to companies who attain service standards of excellence and assist Hormel in its quest for superior customer satisfaction. Gleeson has worked on numerous projects with Hormel, and this is the second straight year the company has received the award.
Hoegger Food Technology, a Switzerland-based producer of meat-processing equipment, held a grand opening dedication for its new U.S. division headquarters on May 19. The company is located in Berlin, Vt. The management team leading Hoegger Food Technology USA is Rolf Laager, president, and Mike Collins, vice president of sales and service. The company provides three-dimensional meat presses, separators and custom-designed, continuous pasteurization machines.
Mueller Fleisch, a German processor, recently added a line of CFS equipment for the production of minced meat portions. The line consists of a CFS AutoGrind, equipped with a CFS MasterTrack and a CFS CombiGrind. The CombiGrind combines a paddle mixer with a high-performance grinder to achieve consistent quality throughout an entire batch.
