JBS USA said it is close to buying two U.S. facilities from XL Foods. According to the Denver Business Journal, the deal is expected to close on Monday. The company acquired two Canadian XL Foods plants and a feedlot earlier this year after XL Foods’ Alberta plant became the focus of a large-scale beef recall in 2012.

The two plants — one in Omaha; the other in Nampa, Idaho — each have a processing capacity of 1,100 head of cattle per day. The Idaho plant is idle, and JBS said it has no immediate plans to reopen it. Terms of the acquisition have not been announced.
