Stellar, a fully integrated firm focused on design, engineering, construction and mechanical services worldwide, has hired Frank Freeman, P.E., DBIA, as Senior Mechanical Engineer. Freeman has extensive experience in both food and beverage and industrial applications, and will manage design and development projects within Stellar’s mechanical engineering group.
“Frank’s broad experience across numerous industries—from healthcare to alternative energy to food and beverage—will benefit our clients as we continually work to bring them innovative solutions,” said John Heinzel, Stellar’s Vice President, Refrigeration Services.
Freeman most recently served as Vice President, Corporate Development with a major mechanical contractor, developing projects in the industrial, food processing, commercial, healthcare, and energy fields. Prior to that, he spent 18 years with Dilling Group, Inc. as Vice President for Sales and Engineering. In this role, he gained significant work experience in biofuel, ethanol, biodiesel and related agricultural processing fields.
Other roles included serving as project executive for Louis Dreyfus, a large agricultural processor, overseeing a $200 million canola processing facility and a $155 million biodiesel and soybean processing facility. He has also managed projects for Perdue Farms and Nestlé, in addition to numerous healthcare design and engineering projects.
Freeman holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction and Mechanical from Purdue University. He is an active member of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) and the American Society of Refrigeration, Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He is in the process of completing ASHRAE certification as a Healthcare Facility Design Professional and is LEED Accredited by the United States Green Building Council.
